The Helambu Trek is one of the best trekking to highland villages of Langtang valley of Nepal which is 71 km away in northeast region from Kathmandu city. The Helambu Trek begins from Sundarijal, an hour’s drive from Kathmandu. After about an hour’s walk, we enter Shivapuri National Park. Continuing along the Chisopani, Kutumsang, Thadepati, and Sermathang, the trek ends at the Melamchi Pul Bazar in the Helambu region. Some of the best viewpoints of the entire trail offer you wonderful backdrop of Himalayan panorama. The Helambu region starts from the Laurebina La Pass and ends at Melamchi Valley. The Helambu village is known as “Tarke Ghyang” and Sherpa living here are descendants of Hyolmo civilization.
