Kanchenjunga Base Camp Trek is a chance to reach the base camp of one of the most beautiful mountain massifs in the world. Located in the far north-eastern corner of Nepal, Kanchenjunga is world’s third tallest mountain on a remote mountain trail ideal for trekkers who enjoy the solitude surrounded by a spectacular National Park characterized by exceptional natural and cultural diversity. The name Kanchenjunga means ‘Five Treasures of the Great Snow’ which is in reference to the five summits that make up Kanchenjunga.

Kanchenjunga base camp trekking trail is taken as one of the most daredevil destinations where you can discover both northern and southern base camp of massif Mt. Kanchenjunga. This trekking trail is relatively considered as less-traveled trekking destination because of its technical challenges that begin with the scenic flight from Kathmandu to Biratnagar and short flight take us foothills of the world third highest peak i.e. Mt. Kanchenjunga at Suketar. The circuit starts from Basantpur at 2200m with stunning views on the highest mountains in the Himalayas before descending to Ghunsa Khola valley taking us to colorful Sherpa village of Ghunsa and to the north side half way up the Kanchenjunga glacier for the amazing view of the north face of Kanchenjunga.

Then the trail heads towards the beautiful villages through dense forests of rhododendron, Pine, and Oak. During the trial, we will visit the South and North Base Camp of Mt. Kanchenjunga. To the south Base, Camp Oktang is considered as one of the most striking viewpoints from where we can have awe-inspiring views of Rathong, Kanchenjunga Range, Rathong, Kabru Range and Jannu. You can have most impressive views of an amazingly high pass as well as remarkable scenic views of eastern Nepal, warm hospitality, and their traditional culture that make Kanchenjunga base camp trek more memorable.
